Watch Multiple Vimeo Videos at Once

Paste Vimeo links into the player and they run side by side in one tab. Free for 4 videos with no account, 32 on Pro. Editors use this to hold two cuts of the same sequence next to each other and watch where they diverge.

How to set it up with Vimeo

  1. Open the player

    Go to multivideo.io.

  2. Paste a Vimeo link

Copy the vimeo.com URL, drop it in the URL box, and press Add.

  3. Add the second video

Repeat for each clip you want beside it.

  4. Merge two into one frame

Merge mode puts a pair in a single split container, which is the tighter view when you are comparing two cuts.

  5. Mute one side

Leave the audio running on whichever version you are judging.

Worth knowing

Password-protected and private videos will not play

Vimeo blocks embedding on videos with privacy settings applied, and on some Vimeo accounts embedding is restricted to named domains. Both are settings on the video owner's side.

Comparing cuts frame for frame

The players run independently, so they will drift apart over a long clip. For a close comparison, scrub both to the same point and start them within a second of each other.

Questions

Can I compare two versions of the same edit?

Yes, and merge mode is the view to use. It puts both clips in one split container so you are looking at a single frame rather than two boxes.

Do I need a Vimeo account?

No, as long as the videos are public. Private and password-protected videos block embedding whatever account you hold.

Can I mix Vimeo with a local file?

Yes. Upload a video from your computer and sit it next to a Vimeo link. The file stays on your device unless you choose to send a copy to the cloud.
